- observed behaviour
- engineering conclusions
Equally important is documenting unexpected behaviour.
Negative results often provide valuable engineering knowledge by eliminating ineffective solutions and guiding future investigations.
No experiment should be considered unsuccessful if it improves understanding of the system.
